About Mountain Rideshare

Connecting mountain communities through sustainable, shared transportation

Our Values

Community First

We're building more than a rideshare service—we're creating a community of like-minded adventurers who share a passion for the outdoors.

Sustainability

Every shared ride means fewer cars on mountain roads, reduced emissions, and a smaller environmental footprint for all of us.

Safety & Trust

Your safety is our priority. We verify all users and provide tools to ensure every ride is secure and comfortable.

Affordability

Mountain adventures shouldn't break the bank. By sharing costs, we make outdoor recreation accessible to everyone.

Love for Adventure

We're outdoor enthusiasts ourselves. We understand the call of the mountains and the joy of shared experiences.

Simple & Easy

Getting to the mountains should be effortless. Our platform is designed to be intuitive and hassle-free.

The Mountain Rideshare Story

How it started

After several winter seasons working as a snowboard coach, I returned to university to build a more sustainable future around life in the mountains. While still chasing storms and powder, I struggled to find affordable, shared ways to get there, and Mountain Rideshare was born.

Why now

Pressure on mountain environments has never been greater. Rising temperatures, shrinking glaciers, and unpredictable seasons are no longer abstract concerns, they're visible realities for anyone who spends time in the mountains.

At the same time, road travel remains one of the biggest contributors to emissions in mountain regions. While people won't stop travelling to the mountains and shouldn't have to, the need to share journeys and reduce unnecessary single-occupancy travel has never been more urgent.

Mountain Rideshare is returning with renewed purpose, stronger design, and a clear focus: helping people travel together, reduce their impact, and protect the places they love.

Our Mission :: From the Founder

I started Mountain Rideshare because I love the mountains and I could see the impact that getting to them was having on the places I care about most.

Like many mountain lovers, I spent years travelling long distances to snowboard, bike, hike, and explore.

We see packed roads, full car parks, and countless cars making the same journeys with empty seats.

I, like many other have experienced glaciers retreating, snowfall becoming less reliable, and pressure on mountain environments increasing year after year.

I don't believe people will stop travelling to the mountains and I don't think they should. But I do believe we can travel more responsibly, as a community.

Mountain Rideshare is my attempt to offer a practical solution. By helping people already heading to the same mountain destinations share rides, we can reduce costs, lower emissions, and take pressure off fragile places without sacrificing the freedom and joy that mountain travel brings.

Built by mountain people, for mountain people, Mountain Rideshare exists to support stronger communities, protect the environments that give us so much, and make shared travel the natural way to get to the mountains.
